VCM 44a and 44a1 bowl locking disk. This part is used to keep your mixer from rocking back and forth and locks it in the up or down position.
This part is crucial is keeping your mixer in a safe position while mixing dough. The teeth do wear out and this part will need to be replaced pending on how old your mixer is. If your mixer rocks back in forth to hard it could cause a lot more problems with the machine. After a while of running with a worn out locking disk you may have to replace the feather key and or the main tilt shaft.
